Greek Media Training!

The IU Chapter of PRSSA will host the second annual “Greek Media Training” event on
February 11, 2009 where public relations professionals will instruct Greek leaders in
managing negative press and promoting positive news about their respective chapters.
Last year, professionals from Hirons & Company led the workshop and will do so again in
2009.

What is Greek Media Training?

Greek Media Training (GMT) committee consists of three sub-committees, Greek Relations,
Media Relations, and Event Planning.  Greek Relations develops a grass-roots campaign and
builds relationships with the Greek Community ultimately building event attendance.  This
sub-committee is also in charge of other marketing efforts for the event.  Media
Relations coordinates the media campaign for this event, contacting journalists and
writing press releases.  Media Relations also creates and updates the event binder given
to each participant.  Event Planning organizes the logistics for putting on this event.
Fundraising efforts are directed out of Event Planning.

This event gives PRSSA students real-world experience in many aspects of public relations
and communications.
